The Name of the Wind

14.7.16

This was recommended numerous times when I worked in a book shop, so strongly I sold it to folks before I'd even read it.

It's nothing like GoT. It has one main character who effortlessly dominates the two inches of book that's the first part of this (not-yet-finished) trilogy.

The Bees

12.2.15

I always feel a bit guilty finishing a book so swiftly when it's clearly taken the author months (years?) to create. But I couldn't stop.

It's a coming-of-age story and it is a lifetime, and it really does make me see the world a little differently. Who knew, the Sunday Times was right.

The Bees

This is completely brilliant and wonderful.

I started because of a recommendation, not the description on the back which actually put me off. Don't read the back, start the book. I recommend it to you all.

Good Omens, "Eleven years ago"
