Buffy the Vampire Slayer, episode 3.20

20.5.16

"For gods sake man, she's 18, and you have the emotional maturity of a blueberry scone. Just have at it would you and stop fluttering about."

It's prom. It's an emotional story and people say nice things they wouldn't usually (bar Giles, above).

It's also 1999. Buff graduates in 1999.

So. I'd been a bit skeptical about the robot/AI-saving-the-world-by-destroying-people* plot last summer but Ultron is not like any other robot I've seen. (If there are more Ultron-like robots, please share.) Even better second time!

*There are approximately 1000 movies and more books with this theme. Yet we are still trying to create it.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer, episode 1.8

Smell is the most powerful trigger to the memory there is. A certain flower or a whiff of smoke can bring up experiences long forgotten. Books smell, musty and rich. The knowledge gained from a computer, it has no known texture, no context, it's there and then it's gone. If it's to last then the getting of knowledge should be tangible, it should be smelly.
