Anne with an E, episode 3.5

22.2.22

Miss Stacy: I can assure you no one will become pregnant from dancing.

Ruby: But there was so much touching!

Miss Stacy: That's not how it works, it's not...topical.

Justified, episode 2.4

On the subject of non-romanticised westerns...

"At least you got to shoot your father."

"You didn't miss much. I thought it was going to be way more fun than it was."

Dark Lord of Derkholm, chapter 5

How thoroughly ordinary Diana Wynne Jones makes having (and being) griffin-brothers and griffin-sisters.

"I can help here, too," Elda muttered into a pile of fruit. "Everyone thinks I'm too small."

Outcasts, episode 2

One thing really irked me: when Stella’s finally reunited with Lily, she’s brushed off.

Sure, fine, if you're 15 and your mum’s just flown from New York to London to see you.

Lily is 18. She'd understand. They've also survived the odds to be reunited. The ‘leaving’ seems relatively trivial.

Gilmore Girls, episode 6.13

This episode has the best family argument scene/montage I've seen. It's almost real (most families don't have quite so much drama to argue about), and is cleverly edited with nicer bits so it doesn't feel too long or samey.

I was lent this as a feel-good '80s film, which it is.

Because sometimes it's nice to just sit back and enjoy something, to not have to worry about figuring stuff out or your new 'friends' dying, to be immersed.

And those are the cutest alien-robots I've ever seen.
