I read this years ago. I was thinking of it today.

The bit that still bothers me is not the book's doing: one character is black yet I didn't realise until some way in, because it didn't say so.

Every character, unless otherwise described, has my skin colour and voice.

Aziraphale and Crowley, if not more human, seem to have much more person than many other human characters I've read.

'Oh dear,' muttered Aziraphale, not swearing with the practiced ease of one who has spent six thousand years not swearing...
